LaVan's last book he worked on right up until his death.  This book is not in circulation due to funding and no publisher willing to publish such a controversial book.
THE GREAT MIGRATIONS AND THE INDIAN PROPHESIES BOOK

Most Indian tribes of the Americas have prophesies of the return of one of their deities, or historical characters, who will save them at the end of the world.  Many of these prophesies specify that this return will happen after they are conquered by a foreign race and go through numerous controversial just as prophesied by Moses.  The need for another savior is fast approaching to save them from being absorbed into extinction, or destroyed by the destructive weapons of mankind.  The prophesies of the Bible and of the Indians are similar in respect to this savior.  Many Indians who are familiar with the stories of this individual and Christianity equate him with Jesus.  Numerous tribes equate their mythological "Jesus" as having been born of a virgin, too many stories in fact to have been borrowed from Christianity.  The material in this book will present the reader with many of these stories
and prophesies not found in the average book.
This is the first edition of his book The Rock Begin to Speak.  This book was buplished in 1973 2nd Printing 1976.
Glyphs carved on rock have been one of the greatest mysteries known to archeologists. Mr. Maritneau believes he knows what they are all about. Mr. Maritneau is a Native American who is skilled in the sign language used by the various groups of Native Americans to communicate with each other when the spoken word failed them. To the uninitiated it is full of obtuse gestures and hand forms, but to the adept, it is clear as words. Mr. Martineau shows, through a multitude of examples, that most rock glyphs are representations of the hand signs used between people. He makes a case for the glyphs as "signs" to somepne looking for something (like a water source) or as directions or warning signals to others, or as simple stories. The book is well organized and easy to follow. It takes the reader through all areas of the USA, Canada and many other parts of the world. The premise is very convincing, but I have not seen much else from professional archeologists to compare it to. Most simply say the glyphs are a mystery!
The Southern Paiutes, which covers mythology and folklore, traditional crafts, historical stories, and information about the Paiute language. LaVan Martineau began collecting a lot of the information in this book during the 1940s from individuals still maintaining the old ways, while their culture eroded beneath their feet. These elders willingly shared this information with Mr. Martineau. Little did he realize that within a few decades almost no one under the age of 50 would still speak the Paiute language, and even fewer would still know the traditional stories and crafts. Discover the charming winter tales that were told in during the wintertime after the pinyon nut harvest in Fall, each story was designed to be morally instructive. Learn how the Paiute made bows and arrows, baskets, cradleboards, moccasins and more. You'll even get a primer on the Paiute language. A unique document from a vanishing period.
